Washington Butler is from Puyallup, a city who was fascinated by arts and culture from an early age. She was a singer in choirs, entered contests for singing and also performed in the community theatre and in high school. After moving into Los Angeles, she studied acting in The University of Southern California and performed as Belle the Princess of Beauty and the Beast at Disneyland for a year and one quarter. Her departure from college was to search for an agent. Then she began casting and working in television and film. Butler was a guest on the TV series CSI: Miami and CSI: NY. Her auditions led to parts in the films A Couple of White Chicks at the Hair Dresser, as well as the Syfy TV Horror film Flu Bird Horror (2008). The year before, she was a character in Don Stark's web series Luke 11-17. Butler was a character in the web series I Love Vampires and a regular one in Luke 11:17. The title she won was of I Spit on Your Grave which was a remake of the 1978 film with the same name. While initially disliking the movie's brutality and sexual violence, she came to accept the film's feminist tone as well as its the strong characters. Butler played Jennifer Hills who, following being severely attacked inside a cabin in the forest and then gang-raped, seeks revenge against the culprits. Produced by Steven R. Monroe the film premiered on October 8th of the 8th of October, 2010. Butler started shooting The Stranger Within with Estella and William Baldwin, the psychological thriller in Mallorca, in November 2011. The film was also set to shoot on location in Copenhagen Denmark and New York City.She joined the cast of the feature film independent Treachery featuring Michael Biehn which began filming in Los Angeles in June 2012. Butler made an appearance in The Demented, a 2013 horror film with Michael Welch, Kayla Ewell and Michael Welch.
